Randy Sherman, Chief Operating Officer, David Zucker Entertainment: Randy Sherman works with David Zucker building an “independent hybrid” comedy factory with A-list Hollywood access, that develops, creates and funds lower-budget comedy films, branded TV/web projects, cross-platform comic content for brands and agencies, and mentors young comedy talent. With over 25 years legal and business affairs experience in entertainment, sports, and marketing working with the studios, networks, agencies, and brands over content production and exploitation. He has developed and managed dozens of innovative strategic ventures in film, television and new media for established & start-up media companies, such as a leading edge broadband entertainment creation/syndication company and an international digital telecom startup.  His focus has always been on new ways to create, distribute, access, and monetize entertainment content, including subscription, “on demand”/ interactive media, VOD, Pay Per Use, and branded content and commercials, as reflected by the new venture between Circa and David Zucker.

 

Scott Williams is the Executive Vice President Americas at Piksel. His role is focused on driving commercial growth in the broadcast, cable and telecommunications space in that region, building on his 15 years of leadership experience in the digital media industry. Scott previously worked for AT&T, U-verse as general manager, as well as the likes of Turner Broadcasting, Time Inc. and the Weather Channel. An internal entrepreneur for the majority of his career, Scott was a pioneer in the mobile industry, creating CNN Mobile in 2000. He has also launched numerous new digital and mobile businesses including health.com, my recipes.com, mobile properties for Time, People, Sports Illustrated and InStyle, and was responsible for the creation of AT&T's T-data platform. Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Marine Science from the University of Miami, and an MBA and Doctor of Law degree from the University of Florida.

 

Brad Gelfond has a unique background that includes expertise in branded entertainment, monetizing content, business development and marketing.  His experience includes representing talent, working with brands on entertainment marketing programs, selling content to advertisers, and representing new technology companies. Brad has been representing and working with artists his entire career, and recently expanded his business by working with digital content creators – those who have a big following primarily on YouTube.  He works with clients to develop their brand, monetize their content, diversify their revenue streams, and continue developing their careers outside of YT. Strike up the Brand has been a strategic music marketing resource for brands, primarily creating music and entertainment marketing solutions for brands as a way to have a meaningful conversation with consumers.  Recent programs for H-P (Live Beats was the first webcast music series on Facebook), McDonald’s, Blue Moon Beer and Bacardi have been across multiple platforms, including broadband, mobile, and experiential/live events. Brad was SVP Brand & Content Partnerships and Strategic Development at Warner Bros. Records. At WBR, he developed new ways to monetize digital content, found new distribution channels, and new avenues for promotion. Brad opened up relationships with the advertising community including digital and media buying agencies, and worked across the impressive Warner Bros. Records content roster creating brand partnerships with Unilever, Sprint, American Express, Blackberry, Trojan, Macy’s, and many others. A deal that Brad partnered with BBH, the City of New York, and the band Oasis won the Grandy at the 2009 Andy Awards as well as a Titanium & Integrated Lion and Gold Lion at Cannes, and is currently a part of the permanent collection at MOMA in New York. Prior to WBR, Brad started Strike up the Brand, working with brands like Bacardi, Nokia, Kia and Keds in crafting marketing programs centered around music. In addition, he has acted as a business development consultant to IMG (both BD and Corporate Consulting groups) and their corporate clients like Marriott and Verizon.  Brad has also worked with ad agencies like Saatchi & Saatchi and FCB on music for advertising campaigns. Brad worked during Internet 1.0 doing BD with viral marketing company, Gizmoz (predecessor to widgets) to introduce their platform to content businesses, and strategized with GiveMeTalk.com (precursor to “podcasts”) to expand their business with music content. He developed a BD strategy for personalized video company MX Entertainment, created an entertainment marketing strategy for Sony Television (for “The Rikki Lake Show” and “Donnie and Marie”), and worked with Warner Music Latin America to expand their alternative division through a branded live event offering.  He also worked with BSMG (True North/IPG) on sponsorships and entertainment marketing for their clients (e.g. a tour sponsorship deal for Varilux. French eyewear company). Brad was also Worldwide Head of Business Development at The Agency Group (recently purchased by UTA), where he crafted sponsorship and marketing deals with companies as diverse as Jim Beam, Nokia, Cingular (AT&T), and Anheuser-Busch for clients like Nickelback, Default, Creed, and Evanescence. Brad got his start as a talent agent, beginning at Regency Artists, Triad Artists and became Vice President and the West Coast Head of Contemporary Music at the William Morris Agency, representing Paul Simon, Tina Turner, New Order, Kate Bush, Lou Reed, Whitney Houston, and Cyndi Lauper.  He also established Reluctant Management, guiding the careers of Kate Bush, Lou Reed and several developing artists.

 

Curt Marvis, President and Co-Founder, QYOUTV: Curt Marvis is recognized for his vast and successful experience in both traditional and new  media and for his pioneering efforts in digital distribution. Mr. Marvis is currently President and Co-Founder of QYOU, a company which licenses, curates, packages and distributes the best of online short form videos.  Now distributed in over 35 countries to over 5 million customers, QYOU is poised to be a leader in global distribution of short form video. Mr. Marvis previously served as Lionsgate’s President of Digital Media, where he helped guide the Company's portfolio of digital businesses including Lionsgate's broad spectrum of digital delivery agreements.  In addition, Mr. Marvis successfully launched original content channels, series and games in partnership with YouTube, Hulu and Machinima. Prior to joining Lionsgate, Mr. Marvis was co-founder and CEO of CinemaNow, a recognized innovator in digital entertainment technology and distribution. Mr. Marvis also served as President of publicly held game developer 7th Level, leading their successful restructuring into delivery of web-based technology applications. From 1983 to 1994 Mr. Marvis was co-founder and CEO of The Company, an award winning and highly successful production company for music videos and commercials. He and his partner Wayne Isham were awarded MTV's Video Vanguard Award honoring lifetime achievement in their work in 1991. Mr. Marvis began his career as a documentary producer and includes 105 half hour episodes of New! Animal World for the Disney Channel among his numerous credits. Mr. Marvis is a frequent speaker at industry events as an expert in the merging of traditional and digital media and served on numerous boards including JumpTV (now Neulion).  He is a graduate with honors from UCLA with a BFA in Motion Picture and Television Production.
