Sunny Dhillon, Principal, Signia Venture Partners: Sunny joined the Signia team in 2012 after launching his own location-based mobile startup named Barstool and investing in early stage digital media start-ups for New World Ventures in LA and Chicago. He was previously an M&A analyst in technology investment banking at Rothschild in London, a business development manager at a venture backed spin-off of New Line Cinema, and a corporate strategist for Warner Bros. He is a mentor for various incubators in Silicon Valley and is on the board of Cents of Relief, a charity based in Connecticut that focuses on reducing human trafficking in Indian urban slums. He is also a board member for Next Gen Partners, the Valley’s leading venture capital mentoring organization.  Sunny serves as Board Observer with Signia’s investments in Super Evil Megacorp, Artillery, Grow Mobile, and Hall. He invests across consumer and enterprise sector startups, with a particular interest in gaming, consumer mobile, online video, and education technology.  Sunny graduated with his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where he was a Lee Hague Scholar. He has an undergraduate honors degree in Economics & Management from Oxford University and a master’s in International Relations & History from the London School of Economics (LSE), where he graduated with distinction.

 

Ethan Gilmore is the founder of VARcrypt (www.varcrypt.com) and the President of Virtualize (www.virtualizevr.com). Virtualize is a virtual reality focused technology and media company that makes premium content and technology that is focused on the emerging mediums of virtual and augmented realities.  Ethan is also the founder of VARcrypt (www.varcrypt.com), which is the world’s first virtual reality and augmented reality focused blockchain content distribution platform. Prior to Virtualize and VARcrypt Ethan worked in the hedge fund, private equity, and media space and has executive produced feature films and television productions.  Ethan is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles and currently lives in New York.

 

Sun Jen Yung, Managing Director, Headwaters MB: Sun Jen Yung, Managing Director, joined Headwaters from Nightwood Capital LLC, a middle-market boutique advisory firm that she founded in 2009. Sun focuses on Digital Media & Internet and Media Growth companies. Her experience of 20 years in investment banking includes corporate finance coverage of Media (cable and entertainment), Digital Media, Internet and Software companies at Oppenheimer, Deutsche Bank , Lehman Brothers and J.P. Morgan. Sun also has experience in Equity Research at Lehman Brothers. She has completed over $38 billion in public (IPOs and follow-ons) and private equity, equity-linked and debt financings and M&A transactions. Sun serves on the Board of Directors for the YWCA of Greenwich (CT). She received B.A. degrees in Economics and International Studies at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN and an M.B.A. of Finance from Columbia Business School in New York.

 

Kelemen Papp currently serves as an Executive Director at Mooreland Partners, a tech-focused investment bank.  Kelemen has 10 years of investment banking experience in tech, where he has advised clients in the mobile and digital media sectors across a range of transactions, including M&A, Private Placements, Divestitures, etc.  Prior to Mooreland, Kelemen was a Vice President at Rutberg & Company, a boutique investment bank focused exclusively on the mobile sector.  Prior to joining Rutberg, Kelemen spent several years working in product development for companies in the FinTech sector.  He helped launch both Curian Capital, a managed accounts platform for custom portfolios, and FOLIOfn, an Internet-based trading platform that enables dollar-based investing.  Kelemen also helped facilitate the spinout of the NASDAQ by assisting FINRA in the development of the Alternative Display Facility (ADF), an SRO display-only market center.  Kelemen holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley and a BBA in Information Technology from The College of William & Mary.

 

Mariana Danilovic, CEO, hollywood portfolio:  Ms. Danilovic is the Founder and CEO of hollywood portfolio, an incubator and accelerator that develops and operates entertainment, digital media, and technology companies. Through hollywood portfolio, Ms. Danilovic launched and helped develop several digital media companies, and served as the President, CEO and Director of ultralivetv, serves on the Board of Directors of reframeit (observer), and the Board of Directors of Emerge Digital.   Ms. Danilovic was the EVP Business Development for NTN Buzztime, Inc. (AMEX:NTN) and Head of Business Development, Content Aggregation and Programming for MediaZone, broadband video company owned by NASPERS/MIH media conglomerate. She also founded and directed the Digital Media Incubator at KPMG LLP, which developed about two-dozen digital media companies. The companies Ms. Danilovic helped develop received institutional funding from KPCB, Sequoia Capital, Hummer-Winblad, Constellation Partners, Softbank, North Star Ventures, HP, and Intel.   Ms. Danilovic headed business development for Peter Guber’s Mandalay Entertainment and was on the management team of the venture fund at Sony Pictures Entertainment, investing in media companies worldwide. Ms. Danilovic also worked for Michael Milken’s Knowledge Exchange and at the Twentieth Century Fox International Television Group. She serves on the Board of Directors of C3, the Arts and Media Node of the Millennium Project, served on the Board of Directors of the Producers’ Guild of America, and is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.   She previously served on the Board of Directors of Tim Draper’s Zone Club and was a member of former Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan's Digital Coast Roundtable. Mariana earned a Masters in Business Administration from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA, and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics, with a Minor in Biomedical Engineering from University of California, San Diego.
