Dr. Kanaan Jemili, Chief Executive Officer, NeuLion: In his position as Chief Executive Officer for NeuLion, Dr. Kanaan Jemili leads the development, management and execution of the company’s innovative strategy. Previously, Dr. Jemili served as CEO of DivX, LLC upon its acquisition from Rovi Corporation (“Rovi”). For three years starting in March 2011, he served as Rovi’s Senior Vice President of Products, where he helped lead the release of market-leading

solutions in the areas of video delivery, guidance and discovery. From January 2006 until its acquisition by Rovi in March 2011, Dr. Jemili was employed in executive capacities with DivX, LLC, where he helped the company develop award-winning technology solutions, re-engaged consumers worldwide and strengthened partnerships with marketing leading device manufacturers, content providers, video service providers and the media processing value chain to drive the company’s rapid growth. From October 2010 through February 2011, Dr. Jemili was Senior Vice President of Products and Technology at Sonic Solutions, which was the parent company of DivX at that time. Dr. Jemili holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from l’Ecole Nationale d’Ingénieurs de Tunis (ENIT) and a Ph.D. degree in in Electrical Engineering from the University of Dayton. Dr Jemili’s passion for digital media technology has guided his career through the constant shifts of the entertainment industry.

 

Robin Wilson, VP of Business Development, NAGRA: As VP of Business Development at NAGRA, Robin Wilson’s responsibilities include ensuring that the company’s current and future solutions are developed and applied whenever new opportunities or markets arise. Robin has over 25 years of international broadcast technology experience in companies that include BBC, NBC, RCA, DiviCom, Grass Valley and Modulus Video where he has held various marketing, engineering, management and founding positions. Robin’s technical expertise encompasses compressed video (MPEG-2, MPEG-4), content distribution (satellite, cable, IPTV, OTT,OVP, broadband), content security (DRM, CAS) and user interfaces. He recently had the opportunity to participate in government relations and lobbying on regulatory matters affecting digital TV, OTT and broadband. Robin has participated in and presented at many industry organizations including SMPTE, EBU, IBC, ATIS, and IEEE. He is also a member of NATAS, the group charged with investigating and selecting EMMY award recipients for innovative TV technology, and of the FCC advisory committee on Downloadable Security for US operators (DSTAC). Robin graduated with a BSc. degree in Applied Physics (EE) from Dundee University, Scotland, and holds a watermarking patent. NAGRA is the digital TV division of the Kudelski Group (SIX:KUD.S) and a pioneer in pay-TV technology. NAGRA solutions include DRM, Conditional Access, Digital Media Security, User Interfaces for Tablets, SmartTVs, Set Top Boxes for operators using MPEG-4, HEVC, Streaming Media, OTT, IPTV, Cable, Satellite, Mobile TV & VOD.

 

Anupam Gupta, EVP, Cloud & Product Services, Vubiquity: As Executive Vice President of Cloud Services, Anupam leads all aspects of Vubiquity’s cloud-based business. He brings over 15 years of product leadership and general management experience, having launched and grown successful cloud-based services in the Consumer Internet, Digital Media and Digital Marketing ecosystems. Prior to joining VUBIQUITY, Anupam was part of the founding team of Mixpo and directed the vision, strategy and execution as CEO from 2007 to 2013. Under his leadership, Mixpo built the industry’s most comprehensive platform to enable interactive video advertising across multiple screens, and grew to become a profitable growth-stage company with a world-class team. Mixpo was recognized as one of America’s Most Promising Companies by Forbes in 2013 and 2014, and was also recognized on Deloitte's Technology Fast 500 list for 2013. Before Mixpo, Anupam spent eight years at Microsoft in product management and product marketing teams for global online services: instant messaging, mobile, premium services, blogging/social networking, voice-over-IP and broadband/dialup internet access. He helped scale customer bases and revenue to hundreds of millions worldwide. Anupam is a regular contributor on the speaking circuit and trade publications for the digital advertising industry. He is also a mentor to early stage startups via 9Mile Labs, a high tech accelerator in Seattle focused on B2B software and cloud technologies. Anupam holds an undergraduate degree in computer science from Birla Institute of Technology & Science in India and a MBA from Cornell University.

 

Nash Parker, Director, IoT Ecosystem Development, Marketing & Corporate Affairs, Nokia: Nash has a Global role and responsibilities at Nokia focused on the Development of IP based strategic business visions, identifying and evaluating new partnership opportunities, emerging digital platform technologies, marketing plans and legal requirements for industry leading global Telecommunications technology concern; primarily in IoT Market Development, Multimedia content delivery, Advertising, IPTV, Videogame and Mobile/Wireless space. Scott Robson, Vice President, Content Operations, Gracenote: Scott Robson is Vice President, Content Operations responsible for overseeing Studio System, Hollywood’s most complete database of film and TV information, and anchoring Gracenote’s Los Angeles office. An experienced digital content executive, Scott previously served as Editor-in-Chief at Yahoo Entertainment, where he guided Yahoo Movies, Yahoo TV, Yahoo Music and OMG, reaching an audience of more than 100 million unique users each month. He also managed the online/on-air partnership between Yahoo and CBS for the syndicated “OMG-Insider” show. Before joining Yahoo, Scott worked at MTV as Vice President/General Manager of NextMovie and Film.com<http://film.com>, and at AOL, where he ran Moviefone and AOL Television. He was also an Executive Producer at the Los Angeles Times, where he launched the newspaper’s awards-centric site and publication, The Envelope. Earlier in his career, Scott served as a founding editor of E! Online, where he created the Fashion Police brand for E! Entertainment Television.

 

David E. Leibowitz is Managing Partner of CH POTOMAC, working at the intersection of entertainment, media and technology and focused on bringing new innovative ways for people to enjoy and experience content.  David brings many years of experience in business, law and policy issues facing the entertainment, new media, CE and IT industries.  Among other activities, David is a Senior Advisor to Gibson Brands (parent company of such iconic brands as Gibson Guitar, Baldwin, Onkyo, Philips Home Entertainment and TEAC); Co-founder and Chairman of Sir Groovy (an award-winning solution for creating enhanced search metadata for musical recordings); Co-Chairman of Golden Shores Enterprises (a marketing and advertising technology firm that utilizes point of sale consumer data to deliver hyper-local digital advertising and lifestyle content across multiple digital platforms); and Chairman of Moonrider (an interactive advertising and content generation company whose platform is used to create engaging “magnetic” HTML5 and iOS experiences for tablets, smartphones, and other interactive devices).  David also serves as a member of the CEO Advisory Board of The Silverfern Group (a merchant bank specializing in buy-side M&A opportunities) and as Chairman of the Advisory Board of FIGHTER Interactive (a transmedia strategy and marketing services company for celebrities and brands).  In recent years, David has served as an Advisor to The SingTel Group (Asia’s leading provider of telecom, data and media services in 25 countries); as a Senior Advisor to Motorola Mobility; as Chairman of EZMO (one of the early cloud-based music social network and storage locker services operating in Europe); as Executive Vice President of Gotuit Media (a leading provider of premium metadata based video tools – since acquired by TiVO via Digitalsmiths); and as an Advisor to others in the content and technology industries.  Earlier in his career, David co-founded and served as Chairman and Co-CEO of Verance (the preeminent audio watermark technology provider used by the motion picture, music, CE and IT industries to protect, manage, and monitor the use of audio and audiovisual content); was Executive Vice President and General Counsel of the Recording Industry Association of America; was a partner in the Washington, D.C. law firm Wiley & Rein; served as Policy Planning Advisor to the Register of Copyrights for the U.S. Copyright Office; and as an adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Miami Law School, and at the Communications Law Institute of the Columbus School of Law (Catholic University).
