Joe LeFavi, Head of Marketing - Comic-Con HQ: Building fan communities around inspired ideas for 15+ years, JOE LEFAVI is an obnoxiously passionate brand strategist, marketer and producer across all facets of entertainment: film, television, publishing, gaming, theater, and new media. Joe currently serves as Head of Marketing for Comic-Con HQ, the streaming video-on-demand network from Comic-Con International and Lionsgate. Prior to Comic-Con HQ, LeFavi was Creative Director at the world-renowned agency Psyop and CEO of Quixotic Transmedia, a consultancy producing and promoting original and licensed content for film studios, TV networks, game developers, print publishers, creative agencies and educational institutions. Recent collaborators include Lionsgate, Legendary, Relativity Media, SyFy, Entertainment One, Electronic Arts, Nerdist Industries, The Jim Henson Company, Imangi Studios, China Mobile Games and Entertainment Group, Meteor Entertainment, and various publishers such as Archaia, Boom, HarperCollins, Penguin, Simon & Schuster and TokyoPop. As a 4-time Eisner & Harvey Award nominated writer and literary packager, Joe is an outspoken champion for publishing with over 150+ SKUs under his belt. He also loves cats.


Jennifer Palais, Director of Digital & Social Media Production, GreenLight Media and Marketing: Jennifer is a content producer and content/channel strategist. She has worked on global and national brands such as Apple, Ultimate Ears, Under Armour, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, Fiji Water and The Recording Academy. Previous to GreenLight Jennifer worked in the digital department at Media Arts Lab on the 30 Years of Mac celebration website and film experience that launched in 2014 and won two One Show awards for design and UX. Most recently Jennifer has been working on large scale transmedia experiences and music partnerships that contribute to culture. Most recently she was in the hybrid role of strategist, executive producer and creative contributor for the social content for the Intel/Lady Gaga/Recording Academy collaboration on the GRAMMY stage in February 2016.


Behnam Karbassi, Founder - President - CEO, No Mimes Media: With nearly 20 years of marketing, event and entertainment experience, Behnam Karbassi, has directed and produced innovative projects for top companies such as Google, Toyota, Warner Brothers and Sony.  His interest in all things interactive began back in 1997, when he worked with up-and-coming record companies and music artists to produce one of the world's first weekly live webcasting shows. He then led teams at top ad agencies like Saatchi & Saatchi, developing interactive and brand teams, as well as spearheading several emerging technology industry firsts for multi-million dollar brands. His love of filmmaking drove him to establish an independent production company creating award-winning short films, music videos, content for major clients and even earning a coveted No. 1 video ranking on YouTube. Behnam provided production services to the 42 Entertainment team that created the heralded alternate reality experiences Why So Serious for The Dark Knight and Project Abraham for Playstation 3's Resistance: Fall of Man game franchise. As Vice President of Production at Emmy®-award winning Fourth Wall Studios, he developed ground-breaking projects on new storytelling platforms, overseeing producers and physical production, assisting business development, marketing/PR & operations. He produced dozens of pieces of content, iPhone/Android apps, websites and digital media. This led to establishing his firm, No Mimes Media, which quickly became one of the leading multi-platform entertainment companies in the world. In addition to award-winning projects for brands and entertainment, No Mimes Media develops and produces innovative original multi-platform properties. Behnam has spoken at conferences around the world on producing ARGs, multi-platform entertainment and emerging technologies. Behnam's passion is directing -- films, music videos, live events, commercials and original content.


Jay Bushman is an award-winning writer, content strategist, and producer of digital media and transmedia entertainment, with a track record of excellence working with the largest brands and studios to the smallest indie creators. Jay has worked as a consultant, creative lead, content strategist and copywriter for large companies like Google, HBO, Disney, Paramount Studios, and Lucasfilm, and agencies such as CampfireNYC and Ignition Interactive. An innovator and leader in the transmedia community, he pushes the boundaries of independent next-generation entertainment. One publication even named him “The Epic Poet of Twitter.” Jay was the Transmedia Producer and a writer for the groundbreaking multiplatform web series The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. An innovative video and social media modernization of “Pride & Prejudice,” the show brought transmedia storytelling to a mass audience and became the first YouTube distributed series to win a Primetime Emmy Award - for Outstanding Achievement in Original Interactive Content.  While continuing to produce groundbreaking new media content, Jay is also the Chief Creative Officer and a Founder of The Horizon Factory, an app-authoring, distribution and monetization platform for creative producers.


Hal Hefner, CCO, Catmonkey Studios: Hal is an artist and storyteller who uses award winning art, design, writing and strategy to create experiences for the entertainment industry.  Hal currently consults for Ridley Scott’s company, 3AM where he creates meta stories and primer content for blockbuster films, such as the Martian and the upcoming Tim Burton film, Miss Peregrine's home for Peculiar Children. While with Fourth Wall Studios Hal helped to create a technology driven web series platform called which produced the Emmy award winning series Dirty Work. With Ignition, Hal participated in the creation of digital experiences for many studios including Fox, Paramount, Netflix and the SyFy channel as well as brands like Nike, NFL and Playstation. Hal is also the creator of the CONSUME art series, based on John Carpenter's They Live and he wrote and illustrated Heavy Metal Magazine’s first webcomic, Gates and wrote a biopic on comedian Bill Hicks, currently in production. Recently, Hal created an intellectual property that involved an Alternate Reality Game (ARG) that contained a multitude of content centered around an ancient cult and he sold this IP to acclaimed author James Frey for his Endgame universe.
