Marshall R. Millett is the founder of Aemass, a San Francisco/Silicon Valley start-up dedicated to replacing rendered graphics with true-to-life real holography and volumetric 3D video technology. The Aemass unleashed platform enables high fidelity, low cost spatial capture for live events, social video, cultural/living heritage and everyday  home experience. Marshall holds a core belief that a new 'experience economy' will heighten or supplant our current material economy, and has been aggressively exploring and implementing virtualization and 3D documentation technologies since 2009. Aemass’ patented innovations in computer vision, data-recording structures, remote tele-access, digitization of at scale environments and long-term digital storage solutions have led to multiple collaborations with some of the world leading media and technology corporations, including Boeing, Huawei, and CBS Digital. As founder of Aemass, he also serves as a Mentor to a multiple of Silicon Valley's most aggressive Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence funds, including Draper's Boost VC Fund and Rothenberg Venture's RIVER programs. Marshall's vision for the future was heavily inspired by deep data and media mining of the past and his service as a senior archaeologist and GIS system specialist across California, 30 other U.S. states and 11 countries, this work including anthropological / archaeological studies stretching across Scotland, England, Pacific Isles, Brazil, Switzerland, Tokyo, Thailand, China, India and Bhutan.  Marshall holds multiple patents in 3D technology, vehicle sensing and capture systems, has a dual Mathematics B.A., Cum Laude Anthropology B.A., an Advanced Graduate Degree in Geographic Information Systems, and is an Alumnus of the School for International Training.

 

Richard Taylor, Cinematics Director at Electronic Arts on Command & Conquer 3 and Red Alert 3, CEO 3SpaceVR Inc.: Richard Taylor has been a member of the DGA (Directors Guild of America) for over thirty years.  In 2008 he received an Honorary Doctorate from the San Francisco Academy of Art University. In 2014 the Visual Effects Society presented Richard with the 10th Honorary Fellow Award. Richard has an extensive background in live action direction, animation direction, production design, special effects, and computer generated images for theatrical films, television commercials, computer games, special venues, VR and new media. In 1971 Richard received The Cole Porter Fellowship to USC to earn his Masters Degree in Photography and Printmaking. In 1973 Richard joined Robert Abel and Associates, the pioneer TV commercial graphics/special effects studio, where he served six years as art director/director.  While at Abel’s, Richard created many award winning spots, receiving four Clio awards for his work on the 7UP Bubbles, 7UP, Uncola and Levi’s Trademark commercials. While at Abels, Richard worked for Paramount Pictures on Star Trek: The Motion Picture. He supervised the storyboarding of the Special Effects sequences and designed and supervised the building of the miniatures including The Starship Enterprise. In 1980 Richard became the Creative Director at Information International Inc. While at III Richard created the special effects for Looker, the Michael Crichton feature. He then designed and directed the groundbreaking special effects and computer-generated images for Walt Disney’s Tron, the film that introduced the world to computer simulation. Through the years Richard has directed numerous commercial campaigns for 7UP, Duracell, Reebok, Intel, Budweiser, Disney and more. For his commercial work he has won 15 Clio’s, 4 Hugo’s, 4 NYC Film Festival Awards and 2 Mobius Awards. In 2003 Richard became the Cinematic Director at Electronic Arts Los Angeles. He designed and directed the cinematic sequences for Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth, Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth II. He then designed and directed the live action / cg cinematic sequences for Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, Kane’s Wrath, Red Alert 3 and Red Alert 3 Uprising. Richard is the Creative Director of XLNT FX, his own company.  Recent work includes Shrek 4, Turner Classic Movies, Showtime, Marvel, Disney and Ubisoft Games. Over the last six years Richard has directed a variety of VR projects. In 2012 he became Media Director at RGH Entertainment focusing on theatrical scale VR. Presently, Richard is directing media for ISYnt Inc; a new company formed by Richard and Jon 9 of Holonyne Inc. Together they are creating a new theatrical scale virtual entertainment format; 3Space Theater.

 

Gregory Peter Panos  is a leading strategic futurist, visionary, writer, planning consultant, conference / event producer, educator,  and evangelist in Human Simulation, Motion Capture, Performance Animation, 3D Character Animation and user interaction on the Internet, Virtual Reality, and the Enhancement of user experience.  Greg has worked with NASA / Rockwell using real-time simulation to visualize the Space Station, and with organizations in the CGI / VisFX industry for motion pictures / TV, Virtual Reality, Virtual Actors and Performance Animation. Greg created the "Persona Foundation" to further initiatives in human simulation, Co-Founded the "Performance Animation Society", was twice chair and twice co-chair of SIGGRAPH-(Los Angeles Chapter), and authored  the "Virtual Reality Sourcebook". Greg is known for his exciting presentations and demonstrations illustrating the relevancy of technology in enhancing the future of our civilization. With expertise in VR, Experiential Simulation. Human Motion (Performance) Capture, 3D Object Scanning, Internet 3D and Entertainment technology Greg has created community and collaboration in these fascinating areas and enthusiastically demonstrates state-of-the-art developments that are emerging all around us.

 

Woody Schultz is an actor, producer, writer and President/Partner of Winning Swimmer Productions. He has been an actor for over 20 years and has worked extensively in the field of performance capture in films such as The Polar Express, Monster House, Beowulf, Avatar and The Adventures Of Tintin: Secret Of The Unicorn for such acclaimed directors as Robert Zemeckis, Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson and James Cameron.  He is a member of the International Motion Capture Society and founded and currently serves as the National Chair of the SAG-AFTRA Performance Capture Committee. He has shared his knowledge of performance capture with audiences across the United States and Europe, creating and participating in panels for AFI, the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, Variety, BAFTA, The FMX Conference on Animation, Games and Transmedia, the SAG Conservatory, The Young Actors' Theatre Camp, and The Actors' Network. He proudly serves his fellow members of SAG-AFTRA as both a national and local board member and through his extensive work on numerous national and local committees. Additionally, Woody has been a producer of the SAG Awards since 2012 and with his company, Winning Swimmer Productions, has produced several short films and documentaries including the multiple award winning comedy DIRTY MARY, coming of age comedy SHABBATT DINNER and the meditation documentary INSIDE OUT which opened the 2008 Elevate Film Festival. During his nearly 25 years of entertainment production he has worked in film, network and cable television, commercials, music videos, and web series, as well as numerous live music and theatrical events for a variety of companies including Comedy Central, CBS, HBO, Paramount, Sony, Warner Bros., Fox, Turner and Universal.

 

Alexx Henry, CEO, BlueVishnu/ Avatar Shepherd: Alexx Henry is an award-winning director and 3D avatar evangelist with roots in celebrity and entertainment photography. He is currently the CEO of BlueVishnu and designer of the xxArray™ full body 3D capture system. Recognized by The Huffington Post as “fearless in his vision,”  Henry has been working with 3D scanning technology to capture everyday people in 3D, and to build a world where people are using personalized 3D avatars to make their lives better. Henry and his studio have been recognized with numerous awards including a Cannes Cyber Gold Lion, Horizon Interactive Best in Class three years running, and a Unity 3D Best in Class for the interactive 3D digital magazine, Art and Skin.

 

David Traub, Co-Founder, Epiphany Film Fund: David earned a Masters in Education in 1990 from Harvard University, while conducting simultaneous class-work in interactive cinema and AI-based narrative at the MIT Media Lab.  HIs master thesis: design of the world's first virtual reality simulation game modeling family therapy. In 1984 he earned his undergraduate degrees in rhetoric and film with honors from the University of California at Berkeley, concluding with an honor thesis focusing on the use of film and television as "educational propaganda."  His primary focus: the aggregation and delivery of "social and emotional" and other learning-centric applications/content via feature films, TV, mobile phones, video games, thin clients/PCs and VR/AR.  In the real world, David has 20-years of experience as a digital media-oriented executive producer, entrepreneur, investor, venture catalyst, global business development executive, ind/or board member to over 40 startups/private equity companies. He has co-raised and deployed nearly $30 million dollars in support of these ventures. His most recent feature film as executive producer was JOBS, starring Ashton Kutcher;  with Bronx Bull his next movie to market (co-producer), and multiple others feature films and TV shows in  development.  David has created games, apps and other content as a co-founder,  executive and/or executive producer of digital products across a wide variety of clients such as EMI North America, MCA Records, Philips/Polydor, Microsoft/ MSN, Apple Computer and many others. He is also an author of nearly 50 articles and reports on the evolution of the digital domain for trade publications, professional books and institutional clients; and a speaker who has given nearly 50 forward-looking keynote and other speeches throughout the world for clients such as the EU, the Swedish and Canadian Governments, TV Globo (Brazil), the National Institute of Film in Denmark, Viacom, US West, Mercedes/Siebold, The Broadband Content Development Forum and numerous other economic development agencies and universities.
